Bar Ilan University offers a B.A. degree in linguistics. This undergraduate degree allows students to explore various approaches to the study of human language, and provides tools for the analysis of any language, such as English, Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, and many more.
 
The program is studied in English.
 
Study program
 
During their studies, students are exposed to theoretical and experimental aspects of linguistic analysis and to various research methods. They receive training in formal theoretical methods and applied and interdisciplinary studies in topics such as bilingualism, language impairments, brain science, and more. In addition, they study various subjects in semantics, phonology, pragmatics, syntax, neurolinguistics, and psycholinguistics.
 

 

Duration
 
This undergraduate program spans three years.

Double major – BA Literature and Linguistics
 
Students can enroll in a double major track in linguistics and literature, which allows them to specialize in both fields of study and gain combined knowledge and skills which open various paths to academic and professional endeavors.

This program is led by internationally renowned faculty members in the field of linguistics. Members of faculty expose students to various approaches to the study of human language and share their extensive experience in research and teaching.
 

 

 

Admissions
 
Based on SAT scores:
- High school diploma.
- SAT score – 1250 and above.
- Minimum EBRW score – 600.
- Minimum SAT math score – 600.

 

 

Based on high school diploma: An equivalent average of 98 and above in the Israeli Bagrut.

 

 
In all tracks: English proficiency test – All applicants from non-English speaking countries must provide a grade of 90 in the TOEFL exam, 6.5 in the IELTS exam, 49 in the ACT exam, 600 in the SAT EBRW exam, or 120 in the Amir exam (applicants from English-speaking countries are exempt from the English proficiency test).
 

 

 

Academic diploma
 
Upon completion of this program, students receive a B.A. degree in linguistics from Bar Ilan University.
